Spider-Punk vs Sonic Underground

Hobie Brown; The Spider-Punk of Marvel's Earth-138 and inter-dimensional ally of the Web Warriors

Prince Sonic; Leader of the Freedom Fight against Dr. Robotnik and guitarist of Sonic Underground

The path to Freedom is a long and arduous road. Especially when you're going up against the very goverment and Man himself, in a Fascist world where liberty has long since died. But, with just a little high voltage, a sweet Guitar, and a band to back you up, those who just wanna rock will always come out on top. Now, these two punk powerhouses are coming face to face in a battle of the bands, where only ONE. CAN. WIN!!!

                              Before we start...

This will of course be using the primary Canon for both Hobie and Sonic. This means the comics for Spider-Punk, with consideration on his Spider-Verse and Ultimate Spider-Man selves. For Sonic, this includes his show, obviously, as well as the LCD game (yes, there's a Sonic Underground Video Game) and some data from Archie's Sonic The Hedgehog, which will be elaborated on later. Also, HUGE thanks to Kiru and RedHeadedElf for helping with the calculations for Sonic Underground. Enough of that though, let's get into this!

                                        Backstory

                                 Spider-Punk

In the dark future of Earth-138, the music-obssessed world and populace was diseased; rotten to the core. Everything in sight was blighted by big business, fascist governments, rampant consumerism, and President Norman Osborn above it all. He ruled America with an iron fist and an even stronger regime, backed by the might of his Thunderbolt Department and the ferocity of V.E.N.O.M (Variable Engagement Neutro-Sensitive Organic Mesh) Nanotechnology.

However, all this would change when teenage squatter Hobart Brown was bitten by a spider turned radioactive from exposure to illegal waste dumping. This power turned Hobie into a Spider-Totem, a sort of multiversal constant of the Web Of Life, an eternal and infinite web to every dimension in existence. Every section of the web needs a Spider-Man, like Peter Parker from Earth-616 and nearly all have one in some form. So, after this call from destiny, Hobie picked up the phone, and himself up off the ground, to become the Anarchic Spider-Man.

Hobie was always unhappy with his life before. He expressed this through constant profanity and language and anger through music, his one way of letting out the beast and keeping himself sane (for the most part). He refused to accept any man trying to claim mastery over others and tell them that hope was lost, and upon the Spider Bite, he finally found a way to fight back. Working with his new friends Captain Amarchy and the Punk Hulk, Spider-Man took down the HYDRA Organization, trashed the U-Foes at the Hellfire Club, and drove the evil Universal Church out of Brooklyn with M.C Strange. Using his prowess as a fighter and leader, he formed the Spider-Army as a "Radioactive Suicide Machine" and made a last stand against Osborns tyranny. With 15,000 volts and amps cranked to the max, Spider-Man played his guitar like he never had before, creating Sonic frequencies to disrupt the V.E.N.O.M, and stop Osborn in his tracks, beheading him, saving the world, and unmasking himself, his work complete...

...But that isn't the end. Hobie's spirit and strength led to him becoming a perfect candidate for the growing army Across The Spider-Verse for Otto Octavius, the self-said Superior Spider-Man. Taking to this like a fish to water, Hobie quickly began fighting against all manor of evil whenever he could, be it the hounds of the immortal Inheritors, the Inheritors themselves, or over 10,000 Electros and saving the multiverse by playing Rock And Roll with his idol, Gwen Stacy. Along the way, he started being called "Spider-Punk" as a joke, but Hobie Brown eventually warmed up to the name and the weight it held. Now, as Spider-Punk, he fights until he can no longer stand, because like his rock idol's taught him, it's better to die on your feet, and stick it to the man, than live on your knees.

                              Sonic The Hedgehog

There was a time when the world of Mobius was beautiful. It was then at peace, thanks in no small part to the wise and caring Queen Aleena. She ruled with a kindness and passion for making the life of all mobians better, especially in the city of Mobotropolis. However, this peace would not come to pass. Shortly after the birth of her 3 children, the evil Dr. Robotnik used his technology to turn the planet into a place of terror and fear, by siphoning the funds of the wealthy aristocrats to power his schemes, like the horrifying Roboticizer, which frequently turned countless civilians into his Robotic slaves. The Royal Family was outlawed and a price was placed on their heads, but when all hope seemed lost, the sagely Oracle Of Delphius sought out the overthrown Queen, revealing the future to her: She would seperate with her children and, one day in the future, reunite with them to form the Council Of Four, overthrowing Robotnik, and saving all that was and is.

Sadly, in order to reach that future, Aleena had to give up her precious sons and daughter, so that Robotnik would never find them. Her daughter Sonia was placed with wealthy nobles, her son Manic was intended for another, but was stolen by a kindly thief, and her eldest son was sent to live in the outer woods. This infant Hedgehog would one day grow up to overthrow Robotnik, and become the fastest thing alive. This was...Sonic The Hedgehog.

Growing up, Sonic was a...spirited child. His super-speed and aptitude for Chili Dog's above all else made him quite the hassle, bit his new parents and Uncle Chuck loved him all the same...until Robotnik found them. Sonic and Chuck escaped, but his foster parents were captured and roboticized. This early exposure to Robotnik's tyranny molded Sonic into a selfless and slightly arrogant leader of the Freedom Fight on Mobius, battling its corrupt leader up until his teenage years as it's deadliest threat. That is, until the Oracle re-appeared to inform Sonic of his destiny, and his hidden family. A bit shocked at this, Sonic did what came best to him, and played a song. He was quite skilled with a Guitar, but this...was something else. His treasured Medallion glowed and turned into a Guitar for him to strum his troubles away with, and it not only did that, but it led Sonia and Manic to him. The Triplets reunited, they all learnt of their future and the responsibility they held, and so, they formed the Sonic Underground band, swearing to find their mother and overthrow Robotnik.

Across their many adventures after, Sonic and his family saved countless lives, destroyed thousands of Swatbots and machines, and saved the entire planet from a Chaos Emerald...but unfortunately, cancelation is a female dog. Courtesy of that, they'll probably never get a full continuation...but that is only half the story. They've also crossed over to the Archie Sonic Canon, and apparently gone on multiverse tour to spread their music and joy to any world battling Robotnik. What's more, in the LCD game, they actually did save their mother, and in Archie Sonic, it was planned for them to receive a true ending (until Sega axed it). Despite all the trouble they faced, one thing remains the same: They made a vow, their mother will be found...because they are SONIC UNDERGROUND!!!

                         Experience and Skill

                                    Spider-Punk

Hobie is no stranger to active combat. He has after all, fought Osborns regime for a presumably long period of time, and has frequently used his guitar as an impromptu club, or headbutted his foes with his spikes (Spider-Verse Team-Up Issue 2), which is also said in the Spider-Geddon Handbook. He's Propped himself up with his hand on a guys head to kick another (Web-Warriors Issue 11), and he is ranked a 4/7 in Skill in the Spider-Geddon Handbook. This is important because goverment agents and expert assassins like Kaine and Teresa Parker are ranked the same, and even Karn, an immortal demigod Inheritor who has slain hundreds of Spider-Totems over several decades, shares this ranking. Of course, this could be just a general aptitude for combat, as Takuya Yamishiro, who is a master of Ninjitsu and FAR less experienced than Karn, is ranked higher at a 5. One other thing to note is, unlike most Spiders, Hobie isn't one to hold back and let his opponents live for "morality", so if he sees a kill shot, he's taking it.

                                            Sonic

Just like Hobie, Sonic is a natural in all things combat. He's been fighting Robotnik's tyranny for years, presumably from when he was a young child all the way until his teenage years. This includes taking out several factories in rapid succession without being seen for over a year, and having memorized knowledge on pretty much everybody in Mobotropolis because the Resistance, like how he knew from the start Manic was a thief. He's also rapidly reprogrammed several robots and technology with little issue, and has shown knowledge on other sorts of stealth and hacking before, despite his siblings fairing better in that regard. Speaking of them, Sonia and Manic are both capable warriors and thinkers, capable of hacking complex tech in moments, with Sonia being a skilled martial artist who also has a photograpic memory. In terms of combat, Sonic has proven to be a crack shot with his guitar, enough to accurately nail a fly, and he's even outsmarted and outplayed A.R.T, an evolving and adapting super computer built to learn from mistakes and counter any stratagem. Yet somehow, Sonic has escaped him and beaten him in battle in succession, only losing due to being caught off-guard in his base with the others. He has also received training from the warrior Gandar, courtesy of the Oracle, on how to improve his speed and reactionary time, including a few speed techniques (Episode 2).

                                     Abilities

                                      Spider-Punk

● Enhanced Physique - Due to the Spider Bite and his role as a Spider-Totem, Hobie has an enhanced all around physique, with super-strength able to lift over a ton, super-speed/reflexes, plus incredible endurance and equilibrium (Spider-Geddon Handbook)

● Spider-Sense - The best Deux Ex Machine of all time, Spider-Punk has one just like all the other Spider-Men. He's showed signs like it when Gwen Stacy showed up (Web Warriors Issue 7), is said he presumably has a precognitive Spider-Sense warning of impending danger like his Extra Dimensional counterparts (Spider-Geddon Handbook), and he's showed the signs and Dodged am attack with it (Spider-Punk Issue 1). It acts like a sort of radar sense to warn Hobie of danger and help him act faster in the most busted comic precognition ever. The catch though, is if the opponent is as fast or significantly faster than Hobie, it won't be that much of a help.

● Wall-Crawling - Another boon of the Spider Bite, Hobie can alter his body's attraction, and stick to walls like a magnet on steroids, just like the others. He's used it to stick to the side of a giant robot mid movement (Web-Warriors Issue 8), stuck his hand and legs to a wall to hang like that (Spider-Geddon Issue 5), and its said he can stick to and scale walls (Spider-Geddon Handbook).

● Life Absorption Resistance - Its not exactly a resistance per se, but he and multiple other Spider-Men can have portions of their life essence absorbed by the Inheritors and still fight, provided it is a quick escape. He and some others even helped Karn via giving him some of their life energy, and were mostly fine after to keep on fighting (Spider-Verse Team-Up Issue 3).

                                            Sonic

● Enhanced Speed/Physique - Sonic obviously possesses mind and reality bending speed, but his is a bit beyond a typical speedster in that he has no protection from it, like how the Speed Force dampens the impact for a Flash. Therefore, he tanks the energy from running as fast as he does each and every time he does. He's also nearly never been shown to tire out, and has crafted several speed techniques across his adventures, like...

• Super-Spin - He can spin fast enough to make mini tornados, and if he's anything like Sonia, pick up objects and throw them with the wind suction/power (Episode 2). Sonia could use hers to make a tornado to suck in enemies and almost sentient like dump them in a dumpster (Episode 5), and he's also used it to knock down multiple robots and cut through rope binding Sonia and Manic (Episode 8), or to break through a metal ship like a buzzsaw (Episode 13).

• Super Sonic Triple-Spin - The classic Sonic move reinvented in a new way. It is referred to as the Super Sonic Triple Spin, Super Spin, Super Sonic Spin, and Sonic Spin Dash, but whatever name you want, the result is still Sonic revving up into a deadly ball buzzsaw to both move faster and cut through several materials or enemies like Swatbots, trees, rope, boulders, ice, etc. Sonic has also used this to burrow around underground, enhance his agility/speed, and aim while in mid-air.

• Semi-Flight - By running fast enough, Sonic has, on several occasions, been able to hover or straight up fly. He's referred to high-speed running as flying before, and actually done it multiple times as a blue streak (Episodes 5, 9-11, 21, 23, 30, 36, 39-40). This ranges from him hovering like a freaking Yoshi, to hovering in mid-air while completing tasks, to hovering while Super Spinning.

• Tornado - By spinning rapidly, Sonic can make large tornadoes to suck in his friends and draw them out of a room (Episode 7), or, scaling from Sonia, seemingly erase people from existence. Seriously. (Episode 20).

• Homing Attack - He basically did this, hovering in the air and everything (Episode 9), with a similar experience here (Episode 18).

• Drill - Spinning fast enough while standing in one place allows Sonic to drill through the ground and into a Robotnik base (Episode 12).

• Material burn - Vibrating his body fast enough, Sonic has burned away and broken through a liquid turned hardened trap in a short time (Episode 24), gotten out of A.R.T's binding restraints by rotating super fast, likely by this, and A.R.T later said it was by spinning (Episode 38).

• Possible Regeneration - He should be relatively even if not superior to non-powered bounty hunter Sleet, who shattered like glass into pieces and was fine, though this could possibly just be a visual gag (Episode 38).

                            Weapons/Arsenal

                                      Spider-Punk

Web Shooters - Spider-Punk has himself a pair just like most other web-slingers, though it is unclear if it's really this or he's producing the webbing himself, ala Tobey Maguire. Whatever the case, he can swing across cities with these (Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3 Issue 12), shoot strands out of both to try and catch Deadpool comically (Deadpool: Too Soon? Infinite Comic Issue 6), catch a tape with a fist or yank himself to objects as well as web swing with one or two hands (Edge Of Spider-Geddon Issue 1), shoot a web line to grab someone like traditional Spidey with one 9r two hands (Edge Of Spider-Geddon Issue 3-4), restrain Kraven in a bunch of webbing (Spider-Punk Issue 1), etc. Its also said he can produce webbing to entangle opponents or swing between buildings (Spider-Geddon Handbook)

Guitar - Its a normal guitar, but plugged up to 15000 watts and an army of amps, it made a large electrical discharge of sound waves that screwed with the V.E.N.O.M and let his army bypass it (Spider-Verse Issue 2). While he doesn't always have the sound materials/resources, he's more than willing to use it as a melee weapon to, say, slash/smash off Osborn's head in the same issue, with the Guitar not being damaged at all from it, meaning it's likely made of a super-durable material. Although, it has broken against stronger foes like the Inheritors before, so it's not (cue Invincible title card)

Bat - A Baseball Bat he used against his version of Thor with "Beat On The Brat" on it (Edge Of Spider-Geddon Issue 1).

                                           Sonic

● Medallion - Given to him by his mother, this is a powerful heirloom that he also treasires deeply and can't bear to take off. His other siblings have one just like it, and through the power of their music, are granted a variety of abilities to fight Robotnik with. It can glow in regards to what he should do and presumably guide his intentions/desires (Helped him sing the song in his heart he had no idea how to do in Episode 1) as well as power his guitar. He must acheive harmony within himself to use it, and he does this via the simple power of music (Episode 2), through its transformation into a...

Guitar - An incredibly powerful weapon he can summon out of thin air with his Medallion, via tapping or gripping it, rubbing it like a genie lamp, or in Manics case, doing it by pure thought (Episode 5). In actuality however, the Medallion IS the guitar, and vice versa; The summon is just it changing forms. As for the instrument itself, it is an electric multi-neck guitar that resembles Sonics head and can shoot energy blasts to blow up robots if he is in harmony with himself or his siblings (Theme Song, Episode 3), though the Oracle also said now they can use their powers whenever they wish after some training. Of note, Sonic also has the most control/skill with his weapon compared to Sonia and Manic. It's effects and powers are as follows:

(THIS AGAIN BECAUSE UNDERGROUND REUSES ANIMATION AND I'M TOTALLY NOT BEING LAZY, I'M BEING TRUE TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL!!!)

• Electricity/Energy Manipulation - Its shown this multiple times, and again with they combine their powers in a triple high five in a song implying he can do this without the guitar (Episode 3). Both his and Manics weapons showed electric effects coming out of their medallions (Episode 4). He can shoot, energy bolts, beams, or multiple blasts of electricity with each riff (Episode 4).

In terms of more esoteric usage, he has held some bots in a beam thing while dismembering/disabling them (Episode 8), used it rapid fire like a machine gun (Episode 19), and the energy is sometimes solid enough for a concussive hits to smash robots to pieces (Episode 12). Sonia's keyboard has also burned holes in doors with consistent beam-esque blasts (Episode 18). One of the best ways to use it however, is the inherent control over tetechnology. He's short-circuited multiple computers via a traveling electric blast that Sonia even implied was his aim (Episode 22), and Sonia's keyboard could blast and short-circuit bots, immediate shutting them off (Episode 10). Even greater, when their instruments played together in conjunction with a Power Gem (non-standard) they created a sort of E.M.P blast that directly shut off robots in the area in seconds.

• Enhanced Hearing - With Manic and Sonia's medallions, they could hear Sonics music despite being far away from it, with both the people beside them saying they don't hear anything (Episode 1). Manic and Sonic could also hear Sonia's music across a few icebergs in the North Pole despite a storm going on, and where it was coming from (Episode 35). This could technically just be for his siblings music, but it is possible.

• Extrasensory Location - Sonia, upon hearing Sonic's song, could see the location of and remember the club where she would meet her siblings (Episode 1).

• Mind Control/Soul Manipulation/Technology Manipulation Resistance/Nullification - With the 3 amulets combined, Sonic Underground could free Captain Argus from Robotnik's Roboticization, which rendered him a Robotic slave, albeit this was only temporary (Episode 4). Did this again to Cyrus' dad, with Sonia saying it lasts a few minutes (Episode 36). The wiki describes this as overcoming the mind control and freeing the caged consciousness, though in both cases it didn't last long.

• Technology Nullification - He and his siblings playing their instruments with the Power Stone made multiple robots in the area short circuit and turn off (Episode 5).

• Genetic Manipulation/Nullification - All 3 Medallions/Instruments playing could remove the effects of Sonic Tonic in seconds. The Tonic absorbed through one's skin makes you move as fast as Sonic, but also grow extra large feet as a result. Yet the simple sound of Sonic playing not only reduced their speed, but also the size of their feet back to normal (Episode 17). While it is a stretch, it's possible he could remove other genetic alterations with his music.

• Plant Growth - Sonic has grown multiple plants in a song just by playing his Guitar. The other two playing grew some tree branches and made other flowers in the area bloom, with the trees dancing as well (Episode 19).

• Hovering/Gravity Control/Telekinesis - While using his Medallion/Guitar, he began to float in the air, because why not? (Episode 28) and while playing on another occassions, he flew up on a rock, with the others doing the same (Episode 29).

• Lightning Summoning - Appeared to summon a few lightning bolts while playing (Episode 33). Because why #$%@ing not?

• Mid-High Regeneration - Despite the difference in Instruments, each Medallion/their functions and capabilities should be roughly the same. This is important because Manic had his drums turned to ash by the Chaos Emerald, and reformed them mere minutes later good as new. Remember, the Guitar IS the medallion, so any damage done to it can be reversed in mere minutes with no issue, and possibly even earlier as he didn't try until they needed a song (Episode 29).

Other Weapons - While his Guitar is the main tool, Sonic's used many other gadgets and gizmos, like from his pal Cyrus, to infiltrate and destroy Ro-butt-nik's machines. These include...

• Bombs - He and his siblings have used these on multiple occassions to destroy Robotnik's bases, like the 2 he used to destroy Robotnik's weapons factory (Episode 1), the ones Sonia/Manic used to destroy a Polar base/plant (Episode 35), or, when Manic had some that, when added 50 kilos of the same stuff, destroyed a large supply plant, with Sonic saying it would vaporize the place (Episode 38).

Anti-Gravity Sneakers - A new, state-of-the-art pair of sneakers he got that let him walk up walls and onto the ceiling, staying there for as long as he likes (Episode 14 and 34).

•Telescope - Has in a song. It see good (Episode 4).

• Communicator - Used to talk on the phone with Sonia (Episode 6).

• Parachute Pack - Had one to swiftly escape some Swatbots. The thin puffy kind (Episode 15).

• Hoverboard - Like the one Manic rides to fly alongside Sonic himself (still not as fast). He has used it in a fashion skilled enough to dodge energy blasts from like a dozen ships (Episode 22), and in the LCD Game, this will turn him Invincible; The cover outright stating nothing can harm him while he is on it.

Swatbot - A sort of Glamrock Freddy FNAF situation, courtesy of Cyrus. Made of a super strong but super light material, Sonic can hop in there and pilot it like a mini-mech that also let's him scan for hidden or important objects, and morph either hand into a Mega Man style blaster (Episode 24). He did destroy/lose it though. Sad.

                                        Feats

                                   Spider-Punk

● Saved the multiverse by playing Rock And Roll with Gwen Stacy

● Helped slay the Inheritors in Spider-Geddon

● Was probably half the budget in Spider-Verse 2

● Defeated President Osborn, Taskmaster-138, Thor-138, Spider-Ham 2099

                                            Strength

● Broke Kravinoffs neck with one kick [He was a mutated other dimension version [hound] used by the Inheritors] (Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3 Issue 10)

- This one with 3 others could take on Miles Morales and Jessica Drew

● Matched a headbutt with Hound Joseph/Hammerhead (Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3 Issue 12)

● Smashed/Slashed off Osborn's head with a Guitar (Spider-Verse Issue 2)

● Pushed back Karn [Good Inheritor later] with a Guitar smash [it broke], and headbutted his chest (Spider-Verse Team-Up Issue 3)

● One-tapped a weak Electro with a kick (Web-Warriors Issue 11)

● Beat his universes Thor (Edge Of Spider-Geddon Issue 1)

- It was off-screen and he was human at the end so unclear how. A later issue (Superior Octopus) revealed it was physical but Thor was also human so it's likely less than it seems that it was Stat accurate Thor

● Briefly fought with a weakened Verna (Inheritor) (Spider-Geddon Issue 2)

● Knocked out a guy with a double punch with Miles Morales (Spider-Verse Volume 3 Issue 11)

● Fought his worlds carnage (Spider-Verse Unlimited: Infinity Comic Issue 38)

● Fought miles for bit while he was possessed (End Of Spider-Verse) [Did seem like he lost at the end]

● Hobie has fought alongside several Spider-Men, defeated several of their enemies, is comparable in strength to several Spider-Men like Kaine or PS4, and is obviously an alternate version OF Spider-Man. Thus, he should scale to anything he or the others can do.

• Spider-Man has snapped Dr. Octopuses robotic arms on several occasions, and they have been constantly improved upon, like the version that tanked an island exploding = 10.52 Kilotons, potentially 10.1 Gigatons of TNT given the description *1

• Ultimate Spider-Man can trade blows with those who can harm him, and he has tanked a 502 Kiloton Explosion *2

• PS4 Miles Morales has absorbed and briefly contained an explosion capable of vaporizing Harlem = 23.76 Megatons of TNT*3

• Spider-Man is pretty consistently shown to be superior to virtually every other "Street Tier" in Marvel. This includes Falcon, who tanked channeling a blast with his wings that would've destroyed New York = 505.3763 Megatons of TNT *4

• Electro, who multiple Spider-Men have fought, and Spot himself has actually beat the snot out of, could absorb all of the power in New York City = 754 Megatons of TNT *5

• Spidey takes an explosion that was comparable to one that sunk Atlantis = 9.31 Gigatons of TNT *6

● By channeling the energy of a giant made of several Electro's, and rocking to the max, Hobie funneled the energy of them out of the planet in a massive discharge of Electric energy = 177.03375 Teratons of TNT *Details in conclusion

                                              Speed

● Kept up web-swinging with like a dozen other Spider-Men (Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3 Issue 12)

● Defeated Spider-Ham 2099 off-screen, and would have had to at least keep up with him to do so

● Dodged futuristic lasers with the other Web Warriors (Web-Warriors Issue 7)

● Dodged Missiles (Web-Warriors Issue 8)

● Dodged energy blasts from his Kang (Edge Of Spider-Geddon Issue 1)

● Briefly fought with a weakened Verna (Inheritor) (Spider-Geddon Issue 2)

● Dodged a flight attack from alternate universe Vulture (Spider-Man: Enter The Spider-Verse)

● Dodged and hopped on a blade an Inheritor threw at him (Spider-Geddon Issue 5)

● Dodged a laser/energy beam and kept up with Miles in movement speed (Spider-Verse Volume 3 Issue 1)

● Fought his worlds carnage (Spider-Verse Unlimited: Infinity Comic Issue 38)

● Jumped at Miles while possessed and fought him for a bit (End Of Spider-Verse)

- Did seem like he lost at the end

● Via the obvious Stat similarities between Spider Totems, and pretty much all of them having the same speed ranking in the Handbook, Hobie would likely scale to other Spider-Men

• Peter has dodged beams of light *1

• Upon fighting Dazzler, who moves at the speed of Light, she claimed she'd never seen anybody move as fast as him *2

• Peter has also been admitted and shown to be far superior to Daredevil, who can react in Nanoseconds *3

• In a similar vein, Peter has blitzed Captain America, Deadpool, and Wolverine before, all of whom can dodge Cyclops lightspeed Optic Blast and keep up with him (Scott can change his lasers path in a nanosecond)

● Burrowed into and shook a small part of an island (Episode 18)

● Knuckles, who Sonic fought and should be conparable to, dug through "a mile" of Mobibendum, a super metal that apparently weighs a ton and Manic didn't believe could fly as big as Robotnik's ship (Episode 27)

● While spinning, he resisted an energy field that completely annihilated a Swatbot

- It was later revealed this was powered by a Chaos Emerald

● Fodderized Dingo/Sleet multiple times

● Blows up robots with in the theme song

● Electrocuted a giant dragon with Sonias help

● Launched an energy blast that destroyed multiple wires, dropping a large metal cylinder to crush multiple Swatbots

● With multiple electricity blasts, shook the whole of a cave enough to dislodge multiple rocks and stalactites (Episode 4)

● His and Sonias instruments could blow up a robot (1 each) to smoke and nothing else (Episode 14)

● Manic with his powers in a song [didn't have them yet] blew up a large building with his powers/drums [he's doing that after] (Episode 17)

● Destroyed a enemy sub thing comparable to his own tank thing with a Guitar Blast

● Blew up an enemy warship (Episode 33)

● While Manic is stronger than him, Sonic has fought the same enemies and his powers are used in conjunction via song to do several things one can't do alone. Thus, he should be in the same ballpark if not only a few times weaker. Manic has...

• Appeared to shake the area of a Forrest (Episode 5).

• Shook an unfinished dam and made pieces of rubble fall off it, with Sonia believing he could bring the whole dam down, and Manic believing the same [he was interrupted]. Later he collapsed part of it, enough to let the water do the rest (Episode 31).

• Drummed to made an earthquake above ground from underground that spit rocks up hard enough to destroy multiple ships (Episode 33).

• Drummed the ground hard enough to open chasms that spit lava out (Episode 36).

• Drumming pretty casually shook the area around a mountain and made it collapse, destroying a factory in the process (Episode 38).

• With his hardest drumming yet, Overpowered and dispersed a Chaos Emerald Tornado (Episode 29).

● There are multiple examples of characters Sonic can scale or Sonic himself tanking attacks from the second Chaos Emerald, or in Manic's case, overpowering a portion of it outright *Details in Conclusion*. Chaos Emeralds have...

• Kept Knuckles island in the sky indefinitely.

• Been stated by Sonic, Knuckles, AIthair, and Robotnik to be able to cause Chaos over Mobius, as well as tear it apart or even destroy the entire planet (Episode 29).

• While split, created a large storm, created earthquakes and ruptures across areas it took Sonic over a minute to get to, and was believed and implied to have set off a volcano by Sonic.

• Dingo, having absorbed its power, made a large earthquake, set off several volcanos With physical/energy attacks, and was claimed a threat to Mobotropolis and even all of Mobius

• Created energy flashes over the entire planet.

●Robotnik also said that the Emerald was his most powerful weapon. This would, of course, extend to all of his other machines he's built or weapon he wamted to use throughout Sonic Underground, like...

• 2 Machines that could wilt or destroy a Forrest.

• The mayor of Mobodome claimed Underground recharging their medallions on a large power source would destroy the entire town with a power surge, and the stone being removed instantly turned the clouds into a storm. She also claimed without the power stone the entire city would fade from the world for good, along with it keeping up a large mist cloud around the city. Later, they recharged their medallions with this energy and played with the stone, and later the power stone being returned reversed said storm.

• A decent assortment of Robotnik's ships could destroy a large castle.

• A mummy and Sonics ancestor believed that Sleet/Dingo forces could destroy a pyramid, and they did shake it.

• Aleena believed Robotnik's forces could destroy the area around a Hydroelectric Dam, where it's Southern Mobius, and around mountains.

• A machine Robotnik made could melt the Polar Ice Caps/North Pole in 48 hours = 1.491395793 Petatons of TNT.

• A fairy thing said she would restore the clouds over an entire island, which is at least 70 kilometers wide (Episode 39)

                                          Speed

● Has ran fast enough to blur, fly, leave dust clouds, or light the ground on fire MULTIPLE times

● Ran fast enough to appear as if he was levitating, blow back multiple trees, and break through Robotniks shield, which Uncle Chuck said would take all his speed, and made Robotnik exclaim that "nothing" could be that fast (Episode 1)

● Spun fast enough to make afterimages and a mini Tornado (Episode 2)

● Spun fast enough to make an actual tornado (Episode 7)

● Basically called himself hypersonic (Episode 13)

● Got to a castle he said was a "Gazillion miles from here" in under a day (Episode 14)

- The place is an obvious reference to Transylvania. Comparing Mobotropolis to New York and the Castle to Transylvania, Sonic would be moving 27,870 - 278,700 MPH (Mach 36.3236289734 - 363.2362897342 for 1-10 minutes, assuming he was aiming to have the Chili Dog warm

● Exclaimed "Wait a Nanosec" implying he can count in Nanoseconds (Episode 6)

- He also rather consistently says "Sonic Second" implying at the very least he sees time faster than everybody else

● Has dodged and reacted to energy blasts and beams on several occasions

- These vary a lot and have multiple contradictions on being lasers, but at the same time multiple things that imply they can be. Several move in a straight line, burn things, can be reflected, bounce off some surfaces, and can be focused through a ruby/gem. Several more also explode, I could go on.

● Moved so fast everybody else (villagers and manic) were like statues in comparison (Episode 11)

- Manic/Sonia with his speed in a song [didn't actually get the powers yet] flew around for some feats, including

• Sonia appeared to turn into a comet and go to space in seconds

• Manic appeared to turn into a comet and blast into the sky like fireworks high above a city

● While driving the van, dodged/steered out of the way of erupting Chaos Emerald energy (Episode 28), and drove the van fast enough to escape an omni Chaos Emerald blast (Episode 29)

- The Chaos Emerald could create planet wide flashes in moments = 25.195 % the Speed Of Light

● Saw A.R.T's energy beams in semi-slow motion and dodged multiple later (Episode 38)

● Jokingly said "How do you like that? I am faster than Light!" (Episode 39)

- It was a joke where he shut off the power/lights and made it back before they shut off. Ergo. Faster than the lights/light

● Thoroughly searched a ship so fast for everything Sonia and Manic didn't even see his move, with Sonic sarcastically saying "Oh right, and i suppose you zipped over there faster then the Speed of Light and-" and dropped her mouth in response, implying she was right and he was that fast (Episode 4)

● Is consistently called the fastest thing on Mobius by Robotnik and his siblings, and has proven it several times by outracing his siblings vehicles, carrying them places, and etc. This would obviously upscale him from every speed feat done by anything or anyone else in the show, like...

• The bounty hunters dodging energy beams (Episode 1).

• Manic/Sonia dodging or blocking energy beams on multiple occassions.

• Dingo while in a speed boosting form Dodged lasers/energy beams (Episode 13).

• Bartleby (non-combatant) dodged some of the Swatbots laser things (Episode 14).

• Ifyukan (partially Roboticized warrior) could deflect/block multiple energy blasts (Episode 23).      • Sonia/Knuckles Dodged a Chaos Emerald blast (Episode 28).

• Sonia Spun in a tornado large and fast enough to throw a giant ship into the ground and destroy it (Episode 36).

• Cyrus (Doesn't fight) Dodged an energy blast (Episode 37)

                                       Durability

                  Tanked his show getting cancelled-

● Tanked getting smacked by a robot that Busted down a metal door.

● Spun around fast enough to cause afterimages by a bot and was just annoyed.

● Tanked ramming into a tree from his running speed (Episode 2).

● Tanked falling off a ship into some snow (Episode 3).

● Got struck by lightning multiple times and was pretty much fine (Episode 16).

● Tanked a point blank flame pillar and was fine, with only burns/scratches (Episode 24).

● While spinning, he resisted an energy field that completely annihilated a Swatbot (Episode 27).

● Sleet tanked a stray Chaos Emerald blast, and Dingo directly tanked the energy of the Chaos Emerald after combining it for multiple seconds (Episode 28-29).

● The van Tanked some energy from an omni Chaos Emerald blast, and another blast later without getting destroyed.

● Dingo turning into a safe thing could contain the energy of the Chaos Emerald.

● Sleet Tanked an air blast from a Chaos amped colossal Dingo.

● Robotnik got flattened by giant Dingo and lived (Episodes 29).

● Via having no real protection, he is tanking the forces of moving at his top speeds

                                      Weaknesses

                                      Spider-Punk

All Spider-Men are not created equal, and this is more true for Spider-Punk than anybody else. while he may hold the power of one comparable to Peter Parker, his intelligence is obviously inferior in no small amount, as outright stated by the Spider-Geddon Handbook. He's pretty much never looked for answers hidden in plain sight to overwhelm foes he normally can't beat, like with Kang The Conglomerator. His "solution" to that was to just sic his Hulk on him. He's also pretty brash and self-centered all things considered, and he's also not a very experienced hero in otherworldly hero fighting like most Totems, given the dystopian state of his world. This shows when, for example, he and a few other possessed Spider's like Gwen Stacy jumped Morlun, and he along with Noir were some of the first to get taken out.

                                            Sonic

Sonic is certainly really powerful, but he is still Sonic. He's a thrill-seeker at heart, and has gone out of his way to divert from plans or improvise when it isn't necessary, to prove his speed or otherwise. His Medallion can also be drained of its power from using its abilities, and should that happen from power overuse, it needs time to recharge. Though over time this seems to have gotten less of a problem. For example, a song drained the medallions early in the series (Episode 5), but later in it (Episode 9 and 36) they could battle several robots and perform a song right after with power not being much of an issue.

                                Conclusion

                             177 Teraton Electro?

Alright, story time. First off, the feat was done via the bracelets resonating with one another over the web, upping the signal on each one, and it intended to use the bottomless power supply of a giant robot, then at least a 1000 Electros got in it (Web-Warriors Issue 10). They said and proved that they couldn't hurt the robot, and the electros said there were 100 100 minds [10,000] in it. Then for said feat, he hooked up the robot like an amp powered by those electro's to play rock and save the multiverse with Gwen Stacy (Web-Warriors Issue 11). The actual feat number is 177 teratons, but divided by the 10,000 Electros present is 17 gigatons

                           Chaos Emerald Scaling?

So, I feel like i need to go into detail on this because of some information conveying issues I've had with people who have read this and been a bit confused, so let me explain.

The Chaos Emerald is obviously far stronger than Sonic, and everybody else in the series for that matter. Its been stated to be such before. However, scaling to portions of it in speed and power are quite consistent.

1. Sonic while spinning could resist a Chaos powered wave that disintegrated a Swatbot and should have done the same to him, but he was fine.

2. His van/tank could tank several blasts of chaos energy without getting destroyed

3. Dingo endured repeated energy shocks and blasts from the even more dangerous split emerald, for multiple minutes no less, and he was able to chamnel it through his body later in his, albeit forced, monster transformation without dying.

4. Manic drumming his hardest directly overpowered a portion of the Emeralds power, with Knuckles and Sonia being right next to him, and visubly feeling the sound and energy he was giving off, but walking away relatively unharmed.

So yeah, scaling to small portions of the emerald is pretty consistent, and Robotnik has stated it is his most powerful weapon. This is further cemented by a stable Emerald being used to power a flying fortress of his as his strongest weapon yet, and the only source of power that could fuel said weapon. So even a small portion of the emerald should be superior or at the least scale to all of Robotnik's technology and wanted weapons.

Is Sonic Underground Canon to Archie Sonic?

So, there is an argument to be made that Sonic Underground is in the same multiverse as Archie's Sonic line. Sonic, Sonia, and Manic are in an issue of it in a multiverse spanning trip for Sonic, and we get to see their backstory in the process, and it's pretty much identical to the Underground story. After that time, a later issue reaffirms their place in the Canon by showing a poster of Underground going on multiversal tour, and Ian Flynn later planned to give Sonic and the Underground Canon a true ending via the spin-off Sonic Universe. It was canceled by Sega, with Flynn basically saying the show was off-limits for...some reason. #$%@ em. There was concept art and covers drawn for it, and Flynn would have put the plot in a sort of coolection book of failed ideas like that, but the comic line got cancelled and it went under.

So, is it Canon? Well, I'd say it's got pretty good reason to be. The show is established to be disconnected from the games and sort of its own thing, while sharing stuff like Robotnik and Swatbots with the SATAM Cartoon and yes, Archie Sonic. In Archie, it is pretty obvious its canon to that verse in some form, via their similar backstories and Flynn treating it as canon emoigh to try and give it a conclusion in the verse.

What does this mean? Well, he'd get pretty reliable scaling to the main Archie feats. Not only are the altermate Sonic's treated as comparable to each other, like Sonic and Anti-Sonic, but Sleet and Dingo actually restrain the latter and imprison him, with Underground Sonic later fighting alongside Archie Sonic. Whether you wish to include it for him is up to you, but the verdict is the same in my eyes with just the show anyway, so its only necessary if you want it to be.

                                   VERDICT

So, like recently, I've got some other people who would like to share their verdicts on the match. Let's get start them off with...

                                        Kiru

Heyo, I'm kiru, someone who helped calculate some stuff for Sonic! I'm gonna be giving my opinion on who would win, and it's pretty clear cut in my opinion.

Sonic, to me at least, should probably be stronger. The machine melting feat is around 2 teratons, but if we don't wanna count that, the highest he should get is shaking a mountain, which is around low mountain level. On Hobie's end however, we're looking at 17 gigatons of TNT, or island level. In AP, Hobie can either be way stronger or way weaker, it depends on what you think is believable for Sonic. I don't think he should be comparable to the machine, and I'll explain why.

The machine was built by Dr. Robotnik so that it could melt the North Pole. I don't think Sonic should be scalable to that, or at least, not the 1410 teratons of TNT like I had calculated. Like it was stated in the blog, the machine would have melted away the North pole in 48 hours, or two days. Sonic should be at maximum, scalable to 1 hour of it. Simply dividing 1410 by 48 gives us 29, so if you want to buy the machine feat, he'd at 29 teratons of TNT.

With all that said, it still just doesn't seem right to me. To me, it's like saying since I can move a house that's completely empty, I should be able to lift a house with things in it. It just seems odd, and I don't think it's applicable. I don't agree with it, but if you do, that's completely fine.

Speed is way more equal, with both characters having feats like dodging light and energy and whatnot. So, AP is a big difference, and speed is equal. That's just stats, but in the arsenal department... God, Hobie has so little. Webs, guitar and a bat against medallions, hoverboards, Sonic's own guitar, and possible genetic manipulation. That last one I personally don't agree with, but it should be usable to an extent. A lot of this could leave Hobie open for Sonic to take advantage of. Issue is, he's Spider-Man, and they are well known for being persistent. That alone could render Sonic's abilities kinda useless.

Depending on what you buy, Hobie could need 1 hit, or well over 100. Vice versa for Sonic as well. Like I've said, I don't believe the machine feat is usable, so I think Hobie overall is stronger. Do I think it's impossible for Sonic to win? No, it can happen. It's really just the fact that Hobie on average should be stronger than Sonic. They are around the same speed, so it comes down to Sonic's abilities, in which I don't think are enough to keep Hobie down long enough for a kill. Sonic's guitar could work, but then again, Hobie can dodge light, so he can very easily dodge "light"ning.

The winner is...Hobie Brown, Spider-Punk

                              Mr. Bobert

Sup its-a me, Bob

And today I'm talking about a mu that I find interesting and how Spider-punk probably ain't winning

First stats

Speed:

Both are FTL, though it should be noted Sonic does use his speed in way more creative ways than Hobie (Goofy ahh Looney tunes speed tornados)

Attack Potency:

At absolute best (for both)

Spider-punk is at 17 gigatons

Sonic is getting at 1.4-smth teratons with his sick ass guitar

A 82.3-something advantage in Sonic's favor thanks to his sick ass guitar

Dura:

Same story because dura being comparable to ap is funny

Tho this time around it's sonic own rough and tough skin not his sick ass guitar granting him this advantage

Tho one could go "lmao planet level chaos emerald statements" for Sonic's dura (to be more specific a fraction of that planet destroying power) given he tanked blasts from said emeralds but um shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So basically Sonic is just too tough, and has way more creative uses of his FTL speeds to keep Spider-punk on his toes till he trips on said toes. I just feel that Sonic getting a good hit with the weapon he has been using for years is more likely than Spider-punk taking it away for all of the fight and chip damaging Sonic yk?

Sorry for the lack of "punk-tuation", it's just that this Hog puts this spidey "6 feet-underground"

Can I get a gutair "rip-ff" and credits written in comic sans?

(Thanks for having me on Round 1 Fights btw, hope this prediction is up to snuff)

                           SonallyKingKataang

"Hey, SonallyKingKataang here. So excited to talk about this matchup. Admittedly, I'm not the most knowledgeable on Hobie in terms of the comics. However, thanks to Round 1 and my research, I think I can give an acceptable answer on who wins. This is also the first time I'm doing something like this, so if I get anything wrong, I apologize (especially in terms of numbers).

Let's look at speed first, Sonic is fast as all ways. In fact, out of his three DIC appearances, this might be him at his fastest. Due to certain statements, he's made, and feats he's pulled off, I think I can give him the benefit of the doubt and put him at "Faster than Sound". However, scaling to other Spider's like our main Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Hobie should be able to at least react to FTL speeds. Even speeds down to the Nanosecond. So if Hobie's not outright faster, he can at least react to Sonic. I give this to Hobie.

In terms of Ap/Dura, both surprised me by having potential planet-level ap or durability. However, I don't think Sonic outright scaled to the planet through the Chaos Emerald. I think he's more on the lower end of Chaos scaling. Hobie's is a lot more believable to me and even without their potential planet stuff, due to scaling and his own feats Hobie's outstats Sonic. Ultimately, I don't think even Sonic Guitar from his Medallion will give him anything to take down Hobie. In the battle between Guitar-Wielding Rebels, Sonic is coming up short, if cancellation couldn't kill him, then Hobie will. Too bad, I guess his mother will never truly be found.

                                      Hazatroll

This MU is quite fun and interesting; and Spider-Punk could be the best opponent Sonic Underground could have in Death Battle. As interesting as it is, it is also a difficult MU to crack, especially when trying to deduce which scalings are reasonable for each character.

While scaling characters to defeated opponent's feats, it is important to analyze how the opponent was defeated versus how the feat is performed by the defeated. Spider-Punk typically takes his battles to a scenario where he holds an advantage. For example, when he fights a physically superior Norman Osborne, he switches to his electric guitar to overload him. During his fight with Electro, Spider-Punk does the opposite by carrying the to physical combat because Electro clearly has superior electric power. Sonic, on the other hand, strongly favors speed and strategic use of Medallion to take advantage of Robotnik's design faults or weak spots of his machinery to emerge victorious. In short, both combatants can find a workaround in battle scenarios when they fall into disadvantage. This holds especially true when both characters have similar reaction speeds to lasers; and both live in settings where power levels of characters do not outclass the other.

Taking all of this into account, the battle ultimately boiled down to who could more easily shut down the other's tools and drain their stamina. Initially, it is easy to assume Sonic falls into a disadvantage due to the recharge requirement of the Medallion. Despite this setback though, Sonic has every means to put the Spidey down.

First of all, Sonic's guitar shoots lasers, while Spidey's guitar shoots lightning. Light is significantly much faster than lightning and Sonic dodges lasers like a child's play. Should he ever get hit by Spidey's lightning, Sonic tanked lightning attacks before with little to no damage. In addition, Sonic being able to spin through ice glaciers no problem means he could easily break out of spider webs should he get caught. With the addition of bombs at his disposal, Sonic holds a huge advantage in long-range combat DPS and attack speed that could drain Spidey's stamina very quickly. When/If the battle reaches close-quarter combat, Sonic would be in a much better shape than Spidey.

When he is physically drained, Spidey always had issues damaging physically comparable opponents such as Venom, Taskmaster and Norman Osborne (w/suit) in close-range combat. Sonic could tear through steel doors, drill through thick glaciers and destroy Swat-Bots by just spinning around them. Given that Spidey's guitar broke numerous times by lesser impacts, Sonic could easily break Spidey's guitar with a single spin attack. This effectively forced more physically-drained Spidey to rely on exclusively close-range physical combat, while giving Sonic complete freedom to switch between long-range and close-range combat. Sonic's guitar could also 'break', but it would always regenerate by the Medallion.

Overall, these two combatants have comparable physicalities to keep fighting each other in a drawn-out battle with almost 50-50 chance of victory. However, Sonic Underground's superior long-range firepower, better strategic mind (no matter how cocky he is) and self-regenerating guitar tipped the scales in his favor just enough to earn a slight majority win.

                                Round 1 Fight

Alright. I suck at intros, so I guess I'll just get into it. Starting off with stats, it's rather surprising who gets what advantage. For Hobies side, it's likely he is faster no matter what feats you take from both. Spider-Man has several feats that make him above nanosecond timers like Daredevil, and blitzing people on Matt's level, like Kingpin, as well as other street tier powerhouses such as Wolverine, Captain America, or Punisher. As such, he's upscaling from 3 x FTL, largely depending on what you buy. In Sonic's corner, him being the fastest thing on Mobius would upscale him from several characters that can dodge energy blasts/beams. These likely aren't light in make-up or speed, but Sonic being faster than or at least close to the speed of light makes sense narrative and feat wise.

For example: The Chaos Emerald could launch energy blasts out or Orbit at 25% the speed of light. Sonic being faster than that via statements is also backed up by other characters such as Sleet and Knuckles/Sonia dodging blasts from the Emerald, and Sonic does as well, while driving a tank no less. Being faster than that by just 2x would already make him 50% lightspeed, and it doesn't stop there. Sonic has also been on the receiving end of a few jokes about the speed of Light, which in Sonia's case, she was being sarcastic, and Sonic proved her wrong in that instance. What's more, Sonic is repeatedly said to not only be the fastest person on mobius, but the fastest thing as well, which would likely include light. These aren't one-off statements either, as Robotnik has said "Nothing is that fast, NOTHING" and multiple other statements like that throughout the series. All of this evidence leads me to think that Sonic is either close to or faster than light, but it could be interpreted differently. Regardless, Hobie is upscaling from 3 X FTL, so bare minimum for both, he's 12x faster. Alright, point for Spider-Punk.

AP and durability wise, it's also fairly clear cut, but not in the way that you'd expect. For Spider-Punk, he's likely scaling to the other Spider-Men feats, which include fodderizing kiloton characters and several feats in the megatons, to even several gigatons later. While this might seem a bit surprising, it does make a lot of sense for Peter, and thus Hobie, to be at this level.

On Sonic's end, direct feat wise, he's in a similar league, but still weaker than Manic, who has collapsed a mountain and shook several areas with mini-earthquakes. Not quite on the level of Spider-Punk, but that is not the end. Let's talk about the Chaos Emerald. Obviously it is the strongest thing in the series, numerous characters refer to it as such and say Sonic Underground can't stop it on their own. However, the scaling to a portion of it is surprisingly consistent. Dingo survived prolonged exposure to the energy of the split Emerald, and I mean a long fricking time by that. Not only that, but his body was able to channel that energy later with his transformation into a monster, and then Sleet directly survived a blast from this chaos empowered Dingo. As if THAT wasn't enough, Sonic's van could tank consecutive hits from the Chaos and…you know, not blow up. And if you still don't think they scale, Sonic spinning outright blocked a wave of Chaos Energy, and while it forced him out, he was still alive and kicking from it no worse for the wear, despite its power. Finally, Manic drumming his hardest in the show directly overpowered a large Chaos Emerald tornado, and both Sonia and Knuckles were right next to him when he did it, so they'd be surviving Manic's output as well. So yeah. Numerous people have scaling to the Emerald, and Sonic would fit in there because not only has he outmatched the bounty hunters both physically and with his guitar, but fought Knuckles as well, and has had to keep up in power with Manic several times.

So, how strong is the Emerald? Well, it's been repeatedly stated to be a planet wide threat, cause Chaos all over Mobius, and it has created energy radiating beyond the planet. Even low end feats have it erupting volcanoes, creating enormous storms, or threatening towns/cities with ease. More importantly, it's stated to be the strongest thing in Robotnik's arsenal that he has or wants, which includes sources able to create island spanning storms, gems capable of maintaining a city and the clouds above, and even a machine that can melt the North Pole, about 1.5 Petatons of TNT. That feat by itself is far above Spider-Punk's other scaling chains, and the other feats from both the Emerald and weaker sources would at the very least be comparable, but likely stronger as well. But wait? What about the Electro feat? Well…explanation time.

So the feat is pretty straightforward right? Hobie channels an explosion worth 177 Teratons? That would make Hobie, who should be a lot stronger than the average Electro, pretty close to Robotnik's machine…if that was all there was to it. For a little elaboration, first off, the explosion was helped by the Spider-Bracelets. They are made to resonate with one another over the web, and this was used to up the signal on each one, making the power greater as a result. Then, long story short, it was done inside a giant robot with a bottomless energy supply that a bunch of Electro's got in, and that energy was used for the feat. So, how many were there? Well, multiple people say in possible hyperbole it's about 1000, making the power of an Electro 177 gigatons. However, the Electro bot himself said "We are 100 100 minds' ', and ergo, that means there were about 10,000 Electro's in there, and that would make a singular one's energy output worth? 17 gigatons of TNT.

Now, there are a few country level feats one could use for Spider-Man (that I'm not including because it's not important to the debate or point, and will only cause salt elsewhere) and you could upscale Spider-Punk from an average Electro by several orders of magnitude, but that doesn't change the fact that Sonic would scale to power output up to 84,243.8593 x stronger than Hobie's feats. And keep in mind, the Chaos Emerald is far stronger than that. So surprisingly, Sonic holds the edge in that regard.

Moving onto tertiary factors, Sonic yet again beats Hobie pretty handily. Looming at their arsenals, all Hobie has access to are a few physical weapons that don't do anything beyond that, and his web Shooters. Now, let's look at what Sonic has; Complex busting bombs, shoes to match his wall-crawling, a hoverboard that makes him Invincible, and, oh yeah, his guitar and raw speed. Not only is the guitar a far more versatile weapon than Spider-Punk has shown, but it's powers are like nothing Hobie has ever seen or fought before. Not only could Sonic hold him in place with its electricity, but he could also short-circuit the web-shooters after a good opening, or use the various other varied abilities, like growing plants, controlling gravity/flying, summoning lightning, or, possibly even remove his powers. Remember, his music could nullify the stat-boosting nature of the Sonic Tonic, which was a genetic alteration, so it's feasible his music could outright remove or screw with his powers.

Another factor in mind is Sonic's speed and what it allows him to do. Like how him vibrating fast enough has burned away materials meant to trap him, like, say, Spider-Punk's web fluid. Not only that, but Sonic could also create large tornadoes to fling Hobie around and disorient him, or just fly around him and out of reach to pull any web tricks.

Of course, Sonic does have the weakness of potentially running out of energy for his Medallion/Guitar, and thus, a lot of his more potent abilities, if Hobie uses his superior speed well enough to outlast him. However, this wouldn't happen for a few reasons, like comparing their experience and skill, or more specifically, Spider-Punk to Spider-Man. While Peter Parker may be a genius and skilled martial artist who has constantly used these skills, along with his raw limit-breaking tenacity, to overwhelm foes with solid Stat advantages against him, Hobie is very clearly not Peter. While his experience in years is likely similar to Sonic, and he fights hand to hand more in comparison, this doesn't change that he's still an arrogant young man who has almost never gone into action with a plan beyond hitting really hard. Even in fights he is sure to lose, he doesn't push past his limits or try to outhax his opponents with his webs like Peter has implied he can, he just hits and hits and hits. Take his fight with his universes Kang for example. Both he and Hobie knew that he would win, so Hobie's solution was to go get the Hulk and sic him on Kang. To top this all off, Hobie's intelligence is very clearly ranked less than other Spider-Men in both the feats and Handbook, which shows in that he has gotten taken out far earlier than smarter Fighters like Gwen in dangerous scenarios. Now let's look at Sonic.

He has had to figure out rapid solutions to problems on the fly several times across his adventures, and, despite his being a thrill-seeker and somewhat arrogant warrior, he's still put his flaws aside when it matters most to come up with a plan, and it shows. Not only has he gotten out of several near-death situations with just different applications of his speed, but he's also matched wits with a computer whose whole thing is adapting to threats and learning to become unbeatable. And yet, the only way he could beat Sonic was capturing him off guard instead of in actual combat. He'd be wary of wearing out his power against Hobie, but even if that was a problem in the long run, not only would Spider-Punk have no way of exploiting it, but Sonic is just as strong without the Guitar, so he'd have plenty of time to just wait Hobie out and recharge it. Even if Hobie tried destroying the Guitar, Manics drums have came back from complete destruction, and that means nothing Hobie could do would stop the Guitar, or keep Sonic from using it forever.

Really, Sonic's straightforward advantages in AP and Durability already have the faster Spider-Punk fighting an uphill battle, but Sonics wider and deadlier varieties of powers and gadgets further this gap even more. Sure, 616 Spider-Man has been able to overcome odds like this before, but Hobie is not 616 Spider-Man. He falls short in the only areas that would help him edge out a win here, and that is why, Sonic has everything he needs to eventually overwhelm Earth-138's Spider-Man.

The winner…is Sonic The Hedgehog

- A worse combination of close and long range
- His gear can't regenerate like the Medallion
- Far less versatile
- Canonically a bad singer
- Spider-Man Unlimited got yoinked off the app store and it's $#%&ING DISGRACEFUL!!!

                                           Advantages
+ Far stronger and more durable, with or without his guitar
+ Much more versatile in weapons and powers, a few of which could shut off, counter, or outright remove Hobie's
+ Smarter and more level-headed, funnily enough
+ Better suited for long-range and just as good up close
+ Superior technology survivability
+ Again. One of the best theme songs in cartoon history
+ Better singer/musician

                                      Disadvantages
- Slower, weirdly enough
- Not as experienced in pure Hand-To-hand
- Hasn't fought anybody like Spider-Punk
- Will probably never get a continuation because SEGA NEVER DOES ANYTHING BESIDES MAINLINE SONIC ANYMORE
- Never found his mom
